Bafra Village

Alongside the quaint old village, exciting developments are taking shape. An 18 hole golf course, the $40 million five-star Kaya Artemis Resort and Spa, which opened in 2007, as well as the luxury Noah's Ark hotel which opened in 2012 (and is the largest luxury hotel in North Cyprus). Another hotel which is currently under construction and is due for completion in 2016, is The Cyprus Concorde Resort. In 2008 at the start of the recession my business partners and I were looking for a less risky investment than the usual stocks and shares. We wanted an off plan development somewhere in Europe that was accessible, warm and most importantly a destination that would grow in popularity and return a profit whilst providing an exciting holiday experience. Having researched the favourite and typical Brit destinations like Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece we came across some good statistics about the length of the Cypriot summer season where the rental period is longer than many other Mediterranean countries.


We understood a small amount about the dual occupancy of Cyprus and between us had some previous experience with the South of the Island. The North remained a bit of a mystery but held an attraction that interested us mainly due to the complete lack of development. Close to this time we saw an advert for the Thalassa development which ticked a lot of boxes and represented a future return on investment. We took on board that UK sales were supported by a very well known and prestigious property agent and decided a visit was needed. From this point forward the investment was a no-brainer! We currently enjoy regular trips to Thalassa and benefit from an "on the beach" location and beautiful surroundings – it helps that being Turkish, the pound goes a long way, the food is amazing and the locals are really friendly. Very happy with our choice.
